The box was ripped up and re-taped and, judging by the condition of the tape, I could tell this wasn't a UPS quick tape job but it had been in this condition for a while. Why would they even ship a box like that out?? The only thing missing was a nut from the crank, which normally has five. Aside from that, EVERY nut on the bike was not only loose, but SO loose as to almost be falling off, which was probably why one was missing from the crank. The bike is very basic, so much so that I have to find a water bottle cage that doesn't require standard frame bolts, as this frame has none. It rides well, the weight is good, and it looks good, all of which allows me to give it three stars. I was a little hesitant ordering a bike online but my son found this bike on Amazon and what can I say, the price was right. The bike arrived packed very nicely and assembling it was a piece of cake and I am far from a certified bike mechanic. I bought the bike solely for commuting, but it's so fun to ride it seems it will be used for Saturday morning rides as well. The bike arrives to your home partially complete. The handle bars, front brakes, pedals and seat are all that need to be attached or adjusted. It should take 20-30min from unboxing to riding. Assembly instructions are NOT included, but there are youtube videos available that give you step-by-step instructions. The bike seems to have well constructed parts and gives a very comfortable ride.If your looking for a commuter bike for school or work that's easy on the back account, look no further. |
