5.0 out of 5 stars Loving My El Diablo..., July 27, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
I am a 33 year old who lives just north of Chicago who bikes everyday of the year (4500-5000 miles). I am not a die hard, lycra/spandex wearing, road bike riding kind of commuter, but someone who just loves to ride a bike anywhere and everywhere (I bike to work everyday). For a year now I have been rocking an Electra Cruiser (loving every minute of it) and extremely happy with it minus one little detail. As I ride in the winter after a large amount of fresh snow, I find that my balloon tires tend to have trouble maneuvering through the snow. Needless to say I wiped out a couple of times. Lucky for me this past winter was a mild winter compared to the usual crazy Chicago winters (I did bike home the day after the big blizzard in 2011).

Now that Summer is flying by, I asked a buddy of mine who used to work at a bike shop for recommendations on a second ride for the snowy days of the upcoming winter. After a long talk I hopped online and went searching for an affordable... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME BIKE!!!, February 22, 2012
I rarely do reviews on products but I just could not resist for this one.
Let me start off by saying I've been road cycling for about four years now and own a few italian made columbus steel bikes and a $6k Wilier carbon road bike.

I was impressed right away with how well the bike was packed in the box. Assembly should be fine even for someone not familiar with bikes.
The cranks are already assembled to the bottom bracket so no need to have a bike shop put it together for you. Comes with "Wellgo" pedals with removable foot cages. I would suggest using a bike pedal wrench that's about $10 at your local bike shop instead of a crescent wrench when you install the pedals so you don't accidentally scratch the crank arm. Either one will work though. The 41mm Deep V wheels are great looking. Solid build quality for the price. There is a single sprocket on each side of the rear wheel so before installing the rear wheel make sure you decide if you want ride the freewheel... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Great bike, but arrived with defect., July 25, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
Pros: The bike is simple, lightweight, and looks good. It was nice that it comes in 60cm because most inexpensive bikes don't come in that size. I am so far finding riding fixed geared to be much easier than I have read online. This bike works great for short rides. In my search for an inexpensive bike, I concluded that this was the best bike I could get for around $300.

Cons: I spent a considerable amount of time carrying this bike around because the fork did not fit around the bolt on one side because it was bent (All I could think the whole time was something similar to an episode of Family Guy, "In Soviet Russia, bike ride you!"). While carrying it around, I received lots of compliments on the bike. I read another review prior to buying this about similar problems with the fork, so I suppose I am not the only one who had this problem. I solved the problem by filing down the metal until it would fit around the bolt. This is the reason I gave 4 out of 5 star rating... Read more
